    Los Alamos $53M smart grid project comes online

    Los Alamos National Laboratory and Japan’s New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization powered up the new Smart Grid demonstration project.  The $53M project includes a photovoltaic array, a battery storage system and an energy management system.  It will stabilize solar photovoltaic output by reducing, or shaving, peak system demand.
